It is important to understand there are different personalities among parrots and to choose the one whom is the right match for you.

Hello,  my name is Ziggy.  I am new to this rescue.  I am a good talker, but choose to do it in private when I cannot see anyone watching me.  I am a blue front Amazon Parrot.  I like to come out of my cage on the platform where I can still get back into my cage if I get scared.  I like to dance and sing.  I am really starting to come out of my shell and be less scared, but whoever likes me and wants to spend time with me will still have to go slow as I am unsure of their intentions.  I love to eat and cannot wait for my fresh fruits and vegetables that I get with my breakfast.  I've been moved around a lot and cannot wait for someone to love me enough to keep me.  I really need a forever home.  Hope to spend some time with you soon.

Love,

Ziggy.

Hi!  My name is Wellington.  I am a Yellow-Naped Amazon Parrot.  I have been living here at the rescue with Sandy for a long time.  I had a friend named Toby Jo that was another Yellow-Nape but he got adopted.  I am happy for him but sad for me as I miss him.  I can purr like a cat and I like to say, "Hi Bird" I really need someone that is going to take it slow with me so I can build some trust with them.  I am a very clean bird, I do not make much mess at all.  I am hoping the right person will come here to visit me soon.

Love,

Wellington.

Hey there!  My name is Kelly.  I am a male Eclectus.  I live here at the rescue and I have a girlfriend here too, her name is Evelyn.  Evelyn and I share a cage and are for the most part pretty content.  I am always on the lookout for danger and will alert the flock when I see anything outside.  I am a very good watch-bird.  I have been plucking and are starting to grow feathers back in since my diet changed to a special Eclectus mix that Sandy buys me so I get the nutrition that I need.  I like to give kisses but sometimes I nip a little when I get excited.   Other than that I am a very friendly bird and like to be held by everyone.   You should stop in for a visit, and if you do, pick me up and take me on the tour with you.  Hope to see you soon!

Love,

Kelly.

Hello, my name is Edison, but my friends call me Eddy.  I know a neat song that my previous owner taught me about my name.  I am pretty outgoing and make friends easily.  I am a Blue Front Amazon Parrot and are a brother to Ziggy.  We have the same parents, I just look more like my mommy since I have more blue on my nose than Ziggy.  She looks like my daddy.  I like to meet new people, so if you are in the neighborhood please stop in and say, "Hi".  Hope to see you soon!

Love,

Eddy.

Hi, my name is Honey.  You just caught me trying to nap after breakfast.  I am not up for adoption, but I live here at the rescue as well.  I am not a people bird and have only bonded to Sandy.  You could still say "Hi Honey" to me and see if I repeat it.  I like to sing, "Oh what a beautiful morning" and I like to growl like a dog.  Hope you come visit soon.

Love,

Honey.

Hello, my name is Evelyn and I share a cage with my boyfriend Kelly.  I am a female Eclectus.  I am more shy and don't like to be handled nearly as often as Kelly.  It would take special person with me and they would need to take it slow so that I could trust them.  I am a very beautiful lady with ruby reds and royal purples and I'm sweet as a button.  I like to take a bath as soon as I hear the vaccum running so that I'm clean too.  I am pretty quiet and I love my box for privacy.  If you are looking for someone like me, you should come by and say, "Hello".  Until then,

Evelyn.

Hello, I'm Hannah, they call me Hannah Banana.

 And I am Sirek.

Hannah and I are friends and we are both Congo African Grey Parrots.  We live together in joining cages.  Hannah is very protective of me and we make great friends.  We love to talk, sing, laugh, play and eat.  We are extremely intelligent and we love to suprise the people that come to visit.  You should stop by and say, "Hello" sometime.

Love,

Hannan & Sirek.

Hi There, my name is Paco.  I am a Timneh African Grey Parrot.  I am smaller than my Congo friends and I have quite a different personality as most Timneh's do.  I am such a good talker, though.  In addition to talking I love to beep and whistle.  (and of course, eat the rug that tops my cage) I am special because I have some red feathering on my neck that most Timneh's don't have.  I am hoping for a forever home.  Come by and spend some time with me if you can.

See you soon,

Paco.

Hi Everyone, my name is Carly.  I am new to this rescue like Ziggy.  I came from a bad place.  I am plucked pretty bad but I am beginning to grow some new feathers.  See my ruptured air sack?  It gets big when I am scared or nervous but it goes down when I feel safe.  I like people but are scared since I was abused.  I am afraid of hands and like women more than men, but if you want to kiss me you can kiss me all over.  I am a snuggle bunny if you can get past the fact that I don't look perfect.  I am a Red Fronted Macaw but are smaller than most of the other Macaws in the room with me.  I am in need of love and for someone to show me that not all people are mean.  Could you give me some love?  If so, stop by and say, "Hi."

Bye for now,

Carly.

Hi, I am Rosco.

And I live with my boyfriend Sarge.  We are a mated pair of Military Macaws.  Sarge is very protective of me and would probably bite you but it would just be because he is trying to keep me safe.  We have lived here for quite some time but are happy because we are together.  Believe it or not, over 20 years ago Sandy got me.  I was her first bird, ever!  I am what started this rescue.  I was not a very friendly bird and she has worked through most of my issues.  She is very good at understanding us birds and our behavior.  You should stop by if you get a minute and see the place.  You would be amazed!

Talk with you more later,

Rosco & Sarge.

Hello there, my name is E.T.

And this is Merlin.  Merlin is my father.  I don't know if you noticed, but when I was very small Merlin bit my feet and now I don't have any.  I don't consider it a handycap because I get around quite good without feet.  We are the newest to the rescue, we came in together.  We've only been here about 3 months.  We are still getting used to the other birds and it's stressful at times.  We are shy but not mean at all.  We are both Blue and Gold Macaws and we are so beautiful.  We love breakfast time and look forward to it every morning.

Come see for yourself how handsome we are!

E.T. & Merlin

Hi there!  My name is Gonzie.  I am a Military Macaw and I am such a sweetheart.  Unfortunately, my feet have sores on them so I hang on the cage a lot to take off pressure.  Sandy rubs cream on my feet and they replaced all the hard things in my cage with soft cushoned purches and boingies.  I also received a heated purch to try to ease some of my  pain as a Christmas gift.  Lots of people show me special attention but I really need a forever home.  I need someone that is able to tend to my special needs and spend more time with me.  Why not stop by and say, "Hello?" I hope that you do.

See you soon,

Gonzie.

Hi there!  My name is Rosie and I am a beautiful Blue and Gold Macaw.  I am a very sweet girl but I need to feel safe with the person that is holding me.  I have been with Sandy since I was 6 months old so I am very bonded to her.  I was bought as a baby from Woody's Bird Farm and only had one other home.  You should come by to see me because I am more beautiful in person.

Love,

Rosie.

Hey, my name is Pepper.  I am a Hybrid Macaw.  I am extremely aggressive and it would take a very special person to be able to work with me.  I am beautiful besides my aggression.  You could stop by, but don't get too close to my cage because I will stick my foot out to grab you.

See you later,

Pepper.

Hi guys, my name is Dairy.  I am also a Hybrid Macaw, however, I am not as aggressive as my best friend Pepper.  I am beautiful and love to be told that I am.  I love to scream sometimes like a woman, but otherwise, I'm pretty quiet.  I do talk and love to have people talk to me.  Come by and chat with me sometime!

Love,

Dairy.
